当地时间12月29日，美国前总统吉米·卡特逝世，终年100岁。在他任内中美建交。
报道称，吉米·卡特29日在其美国佐治亚州的家中去世，他的儿子证实了这一消息，但没有说明死因。
据悉，吉米·卡特于1976年当选美国第39任总统。近年来，他一直在治疗一种恶性黑色素瘤皮肤癌。卡特中心在2023年2月的一份声明中表示，吉米·卡特在多次住院后，将停止进一步治疗，并将在家中度过余生。据悉，吉米·卡特是美国历史上在世最年长的总统。(央视记者 刘旭)
